Media Convergence

Media convergence - is the rapid change in today's media. Today's media has evolved to be able to complete multiple functions because of media convergence.

Types of media convergence- There are 5 main types of media convergence they are economic convergence, organic convergence, cultural convergence, global convergence, and technological convergence.  An example of Economic convergence is if a company interests across many different kinds of media. An example of organic convergence is if someone's watching tv, playing music, or texting a friend these are all examples of organic convergence. One example cultural convergence of is if a story flows across several kinds of media platforms. An example of global convergence is if a distant culture influences another culture despite the distance that separates them. An example of technological convergence is the merging of technology's capability. For example, today's phone can watch video's search information, take pictures, and so much more than was able to me done on an old phone.

Why its related - Convergence relates to mass media because its responsible for creating it. Mass media was formed because of the evolution convergence of the modern phone. We are able to do things like post on social media, search information, take picture, make calls, and a lot more due to media convergence. These are only some of the things I have viewed as examples of convergences in today's society.
